Making Playdough

Kool-Aid® Play Dough
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 package unsweetened Kool-Aid
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Mix salt, cream of tartar and Kool-Aid® in a medium pot. Add water and oil. Stir over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes. Add flour. When mixture forms a ball in pot, remove. Knead until smooth. Put in a plastic bag and/or airtight container. Will last a long time.

The kool-aid gives the dough a scent and colour. The kids will probably try to taste it. They'll only try once! (Unless they're Ethan - he tries some, makes a yucky face, and tries again...)

The instructions I got were slightly different and I made one batch as they said and another as I have written. The posted instructions produced a smoother dough. Just make sure you knead it well after it forms a ball.
